  • Saturday, November 2nd MFT Showcase

  • The central purpose of this Anniversary Showcase event is to raise awareness and highlight the ways in which MFT graduates have integrated spirituality with psychological, relational/systemic, and theological studies to assist in the healing of people and communities.  Alumni are invited to return to campus to present a specific area of their professional experience and/or clinical expertise.  The MFT program at CTS uniquely focuses on the “whole person” by providing a framework for how clinicians can practice spiritually integrated care to individuals, couples, families, and even larger systems.  MFT alumni are uniquely situated to combine clinical practice with spiritual integration, therefore, this showcase will be a celebration of all the different ways CTS’s alumni have applied their academic learning to different contexts—impacting lives both locally and globally.

This first ever Anniversary Showcase event will be a place for graduates to share their clinical and academic work with colleagues, as well as receive feedback. Alums will share their research, clinical expertise, or creative collaborations to the larger CTS community.  CTS has a deep commitment to diversity and honors all aspects of diversities of race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, and physical ability throughout its curriculum and clinical training.  The showcase will also highlight the ways in which CTS alumni have embraced this diversity and have applied these values to different clinical contexts.

Please consider preparing a poster, presentation, performance, or even interactive exhibit. MFTs are creative people, so we welcome any presentations that may be outside the box.  The goal of each presentation is to be informative and engaging, regardless of the format selected. . This event will improve the quality of networks with colleagues, as well as create a platform for therapists and researchers to share their latest findings on foundational and emerging topics in marriage and family therapy.

Alumni do not want to miss this special event to share specific theories, practical applications, or other unique ways in which CTS has impacted your professional path. Some possible focus areas for you to consider your presentation might be as follows:

    • Crisis counseling
    • Premarital counseling
